By accessing or using Storybound ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Platform.
Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the current version of these Terms.
Storybound is a proprietary participatory literary universe authored under the imprint S. Tory Bound.
Storybound is not:
Users participate in shaping narrative outcomes within a platform-authored canon. Storybound remains the authorial entity of all generated narrative content.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials. Storybound may suspend or terminate accounts at its sole discretion for violations of these Terms.
Accounts are non-transferable.
Fortunes are digital consumables used within the Platform. Fortunes:

Storybound may modify Fortune structures at its discretion.
5.1 Ownership of Generated Narrative
All narrative text, story arcs, character developments, and generated works created through the Platform ("Generated Narrative") are exclusively owned by Storybound and/or its affiliates.
The Generated Narrative constitutes a proprietary literary universe authored under the imprint S. Tory Bound.
Users acquire no ownership rights in any Generated Narrative.
5.2 License from Users
By participating in Storybound, users grant Storybound a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, distribute, publicly perform, create derivative works from, and commercially exploit any inputs, selections, prompts, or interactions provided in connection with the Generated Narrative.
This license survives termination of the user's account.
5.3 Limited User License
Storybound grants users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-commercial, revocable license to access and view Generated Narrative solely within the Platform.
Users may not:
any Generated Narrative without written permission from Storybound.
5.4 No Joint Authorship
Participation in Storybound does not create joint authorship, co-authorship, partnership, agency, or ownership interest in any Generated Narrative.
Storybound remains the sole author and rights holder.
Storybound may, at its sole discretion, provide voluntary participation bonuses to users whose interactive participation contributed to a Generated Narrative that is commercially published, licensed, or adapted.
Such bonuses:
No user is entitled to compensation unless expressly agreed in a separate written agreement signed by Storybound.
Storybound may designate certain Generated Narratives as part of the Storybound Archive.
Archive designation does not create ownership rights or publication guarantees.
Users may not use the Platform to create illegal content, exploit real persons, or violate applicable laws.
The Platform generates fictional adult content. By using Storybound, you acknowledge this.
Generated Narrative is AI-assisted fictional content. Storybound makes no representations regarding factual accuracy.
10.1 All sales are final. Purchases of Fortunes, memberships (Storied, Favored, Chosen), and other digital items are non-refundable except where a refund is required by law or granted at our sole discretion. Users are responsible for applicable taxes.
10.2 Immediate access; waiver of withdrawal. Fortunes and membership benefits are delivered immediately upon purchase. By completing a purchase you request immediate access to digital content and acknowledge that you thereby lose any statutory right of withdrawal or "cooling-off" period that might otherwise apply, including the EU/EEA/UK 14-day right of withdrawal.
10.3 Subscriptions renew automatically. Memberships bill on a recurring basis at the then-current price until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your Account; cancellation stops all future charges. Cancelling does not refund the current billing period — your membership benefits continue until the end of the period already paid for, after which subscriber benefits end.
10.4 What you keep on cancellation. Fortunes and Tempt Fate charges already granted to your account remain yours after you cancel; they are not clawed back. Cancelling only stops future grants and renewals.
10.5 Discretionary refunds & chargebacks. We may issue refunds at our sole discretion (for example, for a duplicate or clearly erroneous charge); any refunded purchase has its corresponding Fortunes and benefits removed from the account. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute may result in suspension of the account and forfeiture of remaining Fortunes.
Storybound may suspend or terminate accounts at its sole discretion.
Fortunes may be forfeited upon termination due to policy violations.
The Platform is provided "as is." Storybound disclaims all warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Storybound from claims arising out of misuse of the Platform.
Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
Storybound may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
